There's nothing wrong with butches identifying as transmasculine, taking t and/or getting surgery. Transitioning doesn't destroy or erase butches, it helps some of us live more fulfilling lives. There's nothing feminist about pressuring us to deny who we are or what we need.
The "transition as butch flight" narrative erases butches who modify their bodies to relieve dysphoria, transmasculine butches and butch trans women. Transitioning can be a way of expressing butchness. Framing it as an attack on butch lesbians is just transphobic bullshit.
It took me close to two decades and a lot of struggling to accept I really could be both transmasculine and butch. I don't want anyone else to go through that. Trans butches of various backgrounds/experiences deserve space to exist as we are & to hell w/ narratives that erase us.
