Misinformation about pediatric transition can have serious consequences. Today, I've been keeping track of protests at clinics that treat trans youth. Some of these protesters are parents of trans kids who believe in ROGD.

They also believe there's a "gender industry" "transing gay kids". Lots of signs about "Big Pharma". There are people trying to map out every clinic offering transition related healthcare in the world, focusing on the ones that see youth.

The "concerns" about trans youth have escalated in some quarters into the realm of conspiracy theories. People have taken this idea that most trans kids desist/turn out to be gay and come up w/ the idea that there's a plot to sterilize/normalize gay youth by transitioning them.

These theories didn't come from nowhere, they built up over time and represent a fringe to be sure. But they could end up having very dangerous consequences. There are now protesters trying to shut down clinics and pushing for anti-trans conversion therapy.
