There has long been bioessentialist trends in feminism, especially with cultural feminists, but this shit got way, way worse after some rad fems and GCs started working with right-wing Christians. It's pushed the whole movement to the right.
Like there are a good number of rad fems who oppose working with the right but even they got more bioessentialist too. They expressed some disapproval of those collaborating with the right but didn't kick them out of the movement so they still got influenced by that alliance.
