As someone who used to hang in transphobic rad fem circles, I can verify that they got way more bioessentialist over time. They started out talking about social construction and gender abolition but now some of them think "male people" are practically a different species.

I remember reading somewhere about a lesbian mother of a son being told by separatists to put ground glass in her son's peanut butter & jelly sandwich. I knew les seps who liked to fantasize about torturing/killing cis men and trans women. They can be a twisted bunch.
If anything confirmed to me that cis women and afab people could be just as evil and fucked up as cis men, it was hanging out with les seps who think lesbians are superior to other people. That whole way of thinking/approaching identity creates toxic culture and behavior.

Sorry you've been through that. I've been in an abusive lesbian relationship too and it was terrible. I was hanging with a lot of detrans rad fems, so some these folks might be self-hating transmasc people, just to make things even more messy and complicated.
