the vast majority of supposed 'detransitioner advocates' could not give less of a shit about survival detransitioners, the most at-risk detransition group; they care about making 'detransition' an ideological ex-trans and anti-trans movement. 'detransition awareness' is a psyop

actual 'detransitioner advocacy' could not really cogently exist because people who detransition often have medical and social needs and vulnerabilities, but they overlap heavily with those of the trans pop generally

I kind of hope that trans liberation work can and should make space for detransition support. We all need to be able to survive being illegally gendered in a similarly hostile gender culture.

i think real trans liberation would necessarily include detransition support. my point is that there isn’t a group called ‘detransitioners’ that is separable from the trans population at large

detransition is an action and a stage in many trans people’s lives, and for the few detransitioners who are actually cis, the act of their previous transition will most likely make their cisness suspect in the eyes of cis society. we should have a political coalition here

In the past, I've participated in spaces/resources for people who stopped transitioning, regardless of how they identify at present. Trans and detrans people hung out together. I think that model is a good one for actually providing resources to people.

These spaces existed before the rad fem detrans community was created. From the start, rad fem detrans spaces set out to be different from previous spaces for people who stopped transitioning. They were built on very different politics, very transphobic ones unfortunately.

Having experienced both, I vouch for treating detransition as an experience all kinds of people can have over turning it into a political (anti-trans) identity. Just help people who detransition get what they need to do well, get through the experience, etc.
