I wish I could believe that #DetransAwarenessDay was actually about supporting detransitioners and not about scoring against the trans community.
Most trans people I know believe you should be able to transition, detransition and retransition as often as you like fwiw

This is exactly why we need a detrans awareness day, so people stop assuming detrans ppl speaking up at all is automatically “dunking on the trans” or something. Most detrans people I know support access to transition and want better healthcare and treatment options for dysphoria

I agree. I think it's a great idea and I just wish Keira Bell and transgender trend would stay away from it

Ok maybe not Kiera Bell but as far as I can tell she's anti-choice not pro-choice when it comes to people's gender

Ok but Kiera Bell is not all detrans people and has been through so much trauma at the hands of this community as well as its opponents weaponizing her story. Why does every detrans person have to be an ambassador, they are just people like everyone who is in the trans community

There's a significant number of detrans people who have been organizing against trans people for years and I know this because I used to be one of them. We made bad political choices. I regret that my past actions caused needless conflict between detrans and trans people.

I certainly don't think that all detrans people should be held responsible for the harmful actions of some transphobic detrans people but detrans people ought to know that some detrans people really have gotten up to some sketchy shit.

I like how you’re making it sound like detrans people are choosing some kind of shady political alignment or fandom instead of just being the label needed to describe the state of existing as people who have stopped transitioning

I was a detrans person who choose a shady political alignment. I worked with other detrans women with similar views/agendas. I worked to attach specific politics to detransitioning instead of just using it as a neutral label. Like I said, it was a bad decision that I regret.
