For #DetransAwarenessDay, I wrote about my past efforts to create resources for detrans women, where I think I went wrong and suggestions for more effective organizing. To sum it up, I regret allying with transphobic feminists instead of trans people.https://healthliberationnow.com/2021/03/12/detransition-awareness-day-inconvenient-truths-and-community-building/ …

I thought I was helping detrans women by working with transphobic feminists. Now I think that "alliance" is harmful and parasitic. I think there would be a lot more practical resources for detrans people if we had chosen to work with trans people instead.

Although I no longer consider myself detrans, I know the kinds of struggles detrans people face. I am willing to work with detrans people to create better resources. Detrans and trans people ought to be natural allies. Together we can create a society where we all thrive.

I've only met one person that detransed, they only did so because they couldn't cope with the 24/7 abuse they were receiving, the abuse didn't stop after detransitioning, 6 months later they couldn't take any more & took their own life.

That's heartbreaking. I don't know if saying I'm sorry is appropriate here, but we have to do fucking better as a society.
