It would depend on the people. Conservative Christians would definitely promote both "alternative treatments for GD" and ex-gay conversion therapy, but a lot of more liberal/left transphobes try to tell themselves "alternative treatments" are nothing like conversion therapy.
It's become one of their talking points as they go up against conversion therapy bans. They try to argue that anti-gay conversion therapy is bad but anti-trans conversion therapy is not really conversion therapy. It's bullshit of course, dangerous ignorant bullshit.
