Seriously, how many trans people have experienced some kind of significant gender identity/gender expression change effort or conversion practice at some point in their lives? I feel like that would be most of us.

For real, the first time I came out to anyone was my mom at 17 and the first thing she did was mourn I could'nt have just been a lesbian and then trying to "cure" me. Tldr: had to pretend I was cured and years later still in the closet cause I live with them for now.
That sucks and I'm sorry you went through that. My parents didn't take it well either when I came out as 15 and I partially back tracked for a bit and then came out again later on in college. My path was rocky even before my detransition.

Sorry you went through that. I wasn't planning on coming out since I knew they were transphobic but we had an argument about "secrets" and she pushed me. It was a mistake that's for sure. But this is what those people want. Maybe if they hurt us enough we'll reppress ourselves.
