I would love to see more research on gender identity change efforts/anti-trans conversion practices that include both formal conversion therapy and more informal practices, especially those that involve transphobic family members. What impact does this have on people?

And what resources and supports would help people who've experienced gender identity change efforts/conversion practices? What can we do to help people recover and thrive?

For real, the first time I came out to anyone was my mom at 17 and the first thing she did was mourn I could'nt have just been a lesbian and then trying to "cure" me. Tldr: had to pretend I was cured and years later still in the closet cause I live with them for now.

That sucks and I'm sorry you went through that. My parents didn't take it well either when I came out as 15 and I partially back tracked for a bit and then came out again later on in college. My path was rocky even before my detransition.

My dad made it very clear that if his children were in any way shape or form queer (especially trans) he'd kill them, so that was 20 years of repression and heavy attacks of I as much as dipped my toe in something that was "gendered wrong" and 20 years of repression as a result

That's terrible. I'm really sorry he treated you like that. That sounds very hard to live through. I hope you're in a much better situation now.
