So many spaces are built on the implicit (and sometimes explicitly said) belief that all afab people are safe and welcome no matter how they identify, but that amab people need to prove they deserve to be there. That is transmisogynistic. Stop it.

I hate the idea that cis women and afab people are somehow safer. I can tell you from firsthand experience that it's bullshit. Some abusive afab people use that kind of thinking to prey on people and promote transphobia/transmisogyny.

Yeppp. Honestly, the people who have treated my body and identity with the most entitlement have been cis women. I've had awful experiences at the hands of men, sure, but women who think they're incapable of doing harm are like, particularly terrifying &hard to push back against

and I definitely hear afab trans people distancing themselves from critique or from even having to contemplate their own capacity for harm along that line of thinking too
