Locked my account because some reactionary gender crits planning that march on DC got mad that I had posted a screenshot from their public FB group indicating they were going to be staying in hotels near the WH. They were threatening to get into touch with law enforcement.
These same people were retweeting the "gender offender map" and pics of the protests that happened at clinics that treat trans kids. They're ok with someone creating a map of clinics that offer trans healthcare and talking about how doctors need to be "held accountable"...
...including naming specific doctors. They're ok with people picketing these clinics. That's fine. But me posting that they're staying in hotels in DC, no addresses of specific hotels, nothing about attacking them, that's "stalking and harassment".
The thing is, I don't even think staging a counter-protest against them would be the most effective response. I think they'd exploit that for propaganda. I've been keeping an eye on them but stopped tweeting much about the march because I don't want them to get attention.
Why mention the hotel thing? Well, it says something about who's coming to this event if they can afford to take a trip to DC and stay in a hotel while many are struggling economically. It's also a very risky thing to do during a pandemic.
Who decides to spend money to travel and risk catching a deadly disease to "save women's sports" during a pandemic when no one in their right mind should be playing sports any ways? Half a million people have died, fascism is rising and their biggest fear is trans people?
Hell, I don't think people should protest these fools because they're not worth the risk of getting infected, not with the new more dangerous strains circulating. Let them have their own private covid party. There are safer, more effective ways to counter them.
I also find it hilarious that while they were going off about what a dangerous TRA I am, block and report, etc, they avoided gendering me. Why? Because according to them I'm a woman no matter what and they're supposedly fighting to "save women".
I'm an "adult human female" "can't change my sex", etc, unless it will make them look bad. Then I'm a dangerous TRA that they refuse to gender because that doesn't work with the arguments they're trying to make. They're probably hoping people will think I'm a trans woman.
Also found out that, huge surprise, the person who started this nonsense is also worried about Critical Race Theory and anti-racist school curriculum. Who'd a thought that someone who's scared of trans people and willing to ally with the Right would also be racist?
