Unfortunately, seeing trans men as clever tricksy sexism-escape artists comes with an obvious downside: It leads inexorably to the question: Why shouldn't other women then follow us.
Many of the earlier TERF arguments against trans men/transmascs were that we're sell-outs supposedly taking the easy way out by joining patriarchy instead of fighting it. They granted us at least some agency but accused us of making bad choices, betraying women, etc.
Yeah, I've seen you mention that before and there's a consistency to that version of the argument that I respect. I even think that trans men have a special responsibility to confront sexism, insofar as they're more aware of it than other men.
