They also argue that it's in the best interests of the kids to make them more gender conforming so that other kids will pick on them less. They consider the issue of preventing homosexuality and don't endorse it but mostly because it doesn't seem possible in most cases.

Later in the book they have a case study of a bisexual teenage girl who they tried to help go straight because she wanted to and they didn't think her sexuality was fixed. So they did promote and practice anti-gay conversion therapy in some cases too, just to a lesser extent.

They promote therapy to prevent children from growing up to be trans, to make GNC children more gender conforming so they'll fit in and in some cases did attempt to change young people's sexuality. Zucker's a conversion therapist if there ever was one and I'm glad he got fired.

More recently I found out that one of his former patients, a trans woman named Erika Muse, has been speaking out about how he practiced conversion therapy on her. She's now working to ban conversion therapy in Canada. Really worth reading her account.https://www.ourcommons.ca/DocumentViewer/en/43-2/JUST/meeting-14/evidence …

She wanted to start transitioning as a youth and got seven years of conversion therapy instead. The "therapy" started when she was still a minor but lasted into adulthood. Zucker focuses on trans youth but also practices and promotes conversion therapy for trans adults too.

I'm tired of people defending this man or acting like he's getting unfairly attacked. He's done decades worth of damage to trans people and trans healthcare and it's going to take a long time to undo that damage. To hell with him and his defenders.
