      Two relational diagrams. First diagram shows how mating costs generate conflict. Male traits can incur costs for females. Leads to females evolve traits to limit costs. Leads to female responses may influence male success. Leads back to male traits can incur costs. Second diagram shows a familiar comparison concept. Predator leads to prey, which leads back to predator. Parasite leads to host, which leads back to parasite.
      Relational diagram about sexual conflict within a species. Male trait costly to females leads to female response to limit cost/increase success. Leads back to male traits costly to females.
      Weird analysis of the diagrams. Transcript: basics of sexual conflict within species. taught to undergrads who study evolutionary biology everywhere. note how male is analogous with parasite and predator 'male trait costly to females' means males harming females note how female doesn't just 'submit' to being harmed, but evolves countermeasures. it's an arms race but feminists are supposed to ignore this and act like this has no effect on humans.

      Yeah, what some people are calling radical feminism these day is like the reverse mirror image of evo psych MRA crap. Some get into "female and male are different species" territory.

      It reads a huge amount like evo-psych bullshit. Obviously there has been a degree of parallel evolution in animal species (there's that whole thing where at some point the placenta evolves and a substantial part of human DNA is retrovirally planted somehow and other weirdness)

      But, like, that's not really the basis for reinforcing a social division on that basis and I thought we were supposed to be moving towards abolishing the social impact of such things anyway.

      Yeah, I thought the whole point was to stop people from using biology as a basis for oppression/exploitation, not argue that biology leads to enternal epic war between the sexes.
