I honestly don't know. Personally I always resisted the 'I always knew' trans narrative until I met again the woman who was my best friend at 5 and hadn't seen me for 60 years who reminded me just how much my parents and school used to police me.

...and/or lesbian elements and you'll see a bunch of folks re-transing. That's one good thing that's partially evolved from detrans women's culture, finding ways to integrate transmasculinity with dykeness and/or womanhood.

I think the best course of action is getting our stories out there, esp on the wider LGBT community and orgs with a focus on trans ones. Detrans already have an advantage due to funding by the right and being more palatable to cis audiences and easier to understand.
