I honestly don't know. Personally I always resisted the 'I always knew' trans narrative until I met again the woman who was my best friend at 5 and hadn't seen me for 60 years who reminded me just how much my parents and school used to police me.

I lean towards it being innate from research done on animais at least for most people but who's to say it's the case for everyone? I think regardless people are hesitante cause it being innate has been part of the LGBT movement for long (born this way) and assuming it's not+

could mean that bigots would take advantage and preach that people can change (and even if they could who cares it's not hurting anyone but alas) and would make it easy to deny rights. Also could lead to abuse by parents esp of gnc kids in fear their kid will "turn gay/trans".

That's the biggest pushback, esp considering conversion therapy is still legal in most places and this is under the belief it's not a choice, if it was it would be much worse. I still believe it's innate just like many charateristics such as eye color, part of human diversity+

...sexual orientation. You can teach people to control their feelings but you can almost never change the feelings themselves. Ex-gay stuff ends up proving the opposite of what it set out to do. I think we're going to see that with a lot of "ex-trans"/detrans stuff too.

I agree but it still sucks cause it can and does ruin people. At least something good came out of it. We need a worldwide ban on this torture but unfortunatly that's gonna take a long while esp after last years ruling, the 11th circuit ruled banning it violated the 1st+

Oh yeah, that shit is fucked up and no one should have to go through it. I'm all for doing everything possible to wipe out "conversion therapy".
