No, many have had direct contact with trans women. Some were in abusive relationships with trans women or otherwise hurt by individual trans women and were then radicalized to think that all trans women are abusive. Others pick up transmisogyny after consuming lots of propaganda.

They do tend to support laws restricting trans women's access to bathrooms, etc. Tend to be really into protecting "female-only" spaces, think Michfest. Some are more exclusionist, some more eliminationist, there are degrees of extremism and some get more extreme over time.

And they do tend to want to restrict access to healthcare, definitely pediatric transition. There are moderates who are alright with "true transsexuals" transitioning but think most other trans people are following a trend. Many see transition as inherently harmful.

They're generally concerned with laws dealing with trans issues but for some this is more cultural warfare if that makes sense. They're doing what they can to keep their subculture going and recruit as many young people into it as possible.

I wish it would occur to them to mind their own business, but I guess they think it is their business.

Yeah, and some of them are separatists who claim they just want to be left alone in their "female-only" spaces but even those types often try to undermine trans people, while claiming they're just trying to protect their culture from dangerous "TRAs".

It all seems a bit petty, when Actual Fascism is out to get us all. I mean, I get that some of them had a bad experience with a trans person one time, but turning that into a politics seems a little naive when the world is burning.

Yeah, I get that. I got into it before the far-right and Christian Right became way more prominent after Trump got elected. Once the Right became this super obvious threat and some rad fems started working with them, I started rethinking my priorities and eventually got out.

I really couldn't believe some rad fems saw trans people as a bigger threat than the fucking Right. My impulse after Trump got elected was to find common group with trans people since we were all under attack but that's not how many rad fems felt.

Well, that's only really possible if you get sucked into all the Deep State/Big Pharma/Transhumanism conspiracy stuff.

There's some of that but also Mary Daly-style cultural feminist reject almost all of society as patriarchy stuff going on too. So yet another way of living in an alternative reality.
