I was pissed off at the time because there had been major conflicts in my queer community that ended up hurting me and a lot of people I cared about. That made ex-queer rad fems' arguments even more convincing. They spoke to my anger and emotional pain.

What are their other politics? Because it strikes me that there's going to end up being something of a clash there sooner or later.

The younger rad fems tend to hold more leftist views, anti-capitalist, anti-racist, anti-imperialist, etc. They're way more likely to have read actual radical feminist books but they tend to lean heavier into the cultural feminist strains of radical feminism.

I feel like the majority of the GC movement aren't radfems, but certainly that a strong core of it is. I think that the radfem core might start avoiding GC whilst keeping "TERFy" views, or even many do already. What do you think?

Yeah, that sounds right. I never thought of myself as gender crit when I was a rad fem and never cared for most of them. I thought they made us look bad. Some rad fems even think of gender crits as transphobic bigots but think they themselves have a nuanced political analysis.

There ability to continue to be present in these spaces while opposing some of the people in them is what is worrying. But it is true of all forms of bigitry that the silent form is far more invasive than the overt form you can see coming.

Thanks for commenting on this and providing some really good insight on this. Radicalisation and their recruitment process and just how committed they are is quite a scary thing to face.
