We often have much in common. Detrans women and transmasculine people can both struggle with the effects of sexism/misogyny, trauma, and gender dysphoria. Many of us have to learn how to survive as a genderweirdo in the larger culture.

Our experiences are different in some ways but we have many commonalities and shared interests. We ought to support each other. While I am critical of some parts of detrans culture, I would hate it if my work ended up harming detrans women. That community was my home for so long.

I aim to criticize transphobia in detrans communities that gets in the way of detrans/trans solidarity. It's in our interests to work together and I want to do what I can to make that happen. I criticize not to destroy but to create new connections in the long run.
