Transphobes only care about the potential risks and harms of transitioning as a reason to do away with it. They don't want medical transition to become safer because that would make it harder to argue against it.

Also means transphobes benefit from detrans people having inadequate resources because the more detrans people suffer the easier it is for transphobes to paint transition as life-ruining. If people who were hurt/not helped by transitioning could get what they needed to heal...

...and get on with their lives, it would be a lot harder to for transphobes to weaponize detransition and use it to argue against all transition. Transphobes have little interest in actually alleviating detrans people's suffering.

it's similar to the people who want to make immigration as dangerous as possible and then point to the deaths of immigrants to try to deter others . In fact such thinking is very common among conservatives.

It's like the way they point to the proportion of women who haven't medically transitioned, as if that were a reason to exclude trans women from the spaces they want to gatekeep. But then they go to the wildest lengths to try to make it impossible for anybody to do so
