I'm also not trying to let people who join transphobic groups off the hook, even if they were abused in the past. They are responsible for their actions and need to be held accountable. Past abuse is never an excuse to hurt others, nor demonize a whole group of people.

It certainly doesn't help that there's a sort of intergenerational shock where third wave onward have kinda misled people about 2nd wave at points straying into misinformation that then feels like you've been being lied to by ppl who helped politically educate you.

I felt very mislead and deceived when I actually started reading radical and lesbian feminists. I realized I'd been presented with a very biased view of them. Not that some queer critiques of them aren't right but I wish people engaged more with what they're criticizing.
