Going to say something slightly impolitic maybe. Watching a video by a youtube detranser (who is still plenty dysphoric and appears to be basically detransed on ideological grounds that gender isn't real, and suppresses her feelings of GD by sheer force of will?)

Anyway she's talking (as many I've watched videos before by) about how she was trying to fulfil some archetype of a Real Man and realised she would never be a real biological man, so she stopped.

But there's a thing here where for me (admittedly as a transfem person who has never been through detransition) IDK that early transition need to perfect some performance of a gender archetype went by years ago. I'm a fat queer transsexual and that's mostly okay, for me.

But also, I feel like there's a bait and switch going on - being trans usually doesn't mean living up to an archetype, and getting over feeling like you need to embody that doesn't have to mean detransition.

Ideological detrans people can have some strange ideas of what it means to be trans. A lot of it is designed to make being trans seem inherently unsatisfying and inauthentic. They're trying to convince themselves it could never work for them.
