Transphobic/gender crit parents used to use my detrans story to argue their points. Never liked that but I don't know if I pushed back hard enough at the time. It's upsetting to think about now.

I want to say to any young trans person, if your parents or other family members tried to use my story to undermine your identity and autonomy, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if my past writing or videos caused you any sort of harm.

Yes, I have and I find it very troubling. I've watched gender critical parents and therapists get increasingly organized and influential over the years. That's why I think trying to create resources for the trans youth they're targeting is so important.
