How shorting works: Me: Hey neighbor, can I borrow a cup of flower? Neighbor: Sure! Me: [Sells cup of flower for $1] Market: The price of flour is now $0.10 Me: [Buys a cup of flower for $0.10] Me: Hey neighbor, here's that cup of flower I borrowed. Me: [Pockets $0.90]

Shorting only works if the price drops. In the scenario above, what would have happened if the price went up to $2? I'd be screwed, right? I'd have to find another dollar somewhere to rebuy the flour and pay back the loan.
