    "Cantrell set a $1,250 bond on a homeless man arrested for allegedly stealing $21.28 of drinks and potato chips from a drug store. Cantrell lowered the bond to $300 at a second hearing, which was still more than Moran could afford. He spent the next two months in jail."

    Judge Harry Cantrell in New Orleans is imposing unaffordable cash bail on Black people in New Orleans, in defiance of a federal order. He is setting bail at thousands of dollars for people whose life savings don't even come close to covering the cost.

    CA law (SB 1421) made records of police shootings public. On-duty or off-duty should not matter. We continue to push for the release of records in SF, which have trickled out at glacier speed since 1421 went into effect over a year ago! Transparency+Accountability =>trust/safety
