    NEW from me: Last month OSHA proposed fining a Smithfield plant $13k for Covid-19 safety risks. Under Reagan in 1988 it fined the EXACT SAME PLANT under the same legal authority, but proposed $4.3 million in fines.

    Update: The Senate will vote to confirm Mayorkas as DHS Secretary on Tuesday. No exact time yet. Vote was scheduled for Monday at 5:30pm, but postponed due to DC weather. TBD if this will impact timing of Biden’s Tuesday immigration-related announcements.

    Mayorkas is cleared for confirmation vote on Monday at 5:30 p.m. Cloture vote to end debate on his nomination to DHS Secretary is over. 55-42 vote. He’ll have votes to be confirmed, but looks like it won’t be with much GOP support.
