One thing I want to make clear is that 'open science' is not the opposite of 'closed science'. The two have various traits and can co-exist.

Do peer reviewers know who the investigators are? If so, how do you agent for gender and race bias?

They can't. Extreme open science proponents (oddly almost always white men) don't consider these factors.

that's a serious flaw, and may also be why it's mostly white men who are strong proponents.
