      One thing I want to make clear is that 'open science' is not the opposite of 'closed science'. The two have various traits and can co-exist.

      However, #openscience has core traits like increased transparency for rigour. accountability, and reproducibility. That's just GOOD science!

      Almost systemically though, there is no training at all for the skills and tools researchers need to adopt a culture of 'open' practices.

          Do peer reviewers know who the investigators are? If so, how do you agent for gender and race bias?

          They can't. Extreme open science proponents (oddly almost always white men) don't consider these factors.
