1) not surprised at all because all the Dems have are recycled talking points anyway and 2) they probably thought it’d be a good idea to give him a speech that’d feel familiar to him.

It's the same with the GOP unfortunately. Years and years with the talk of "fiscal responsibility" followed by inevitable government creep, increased spending and racking up debt. And if the tax breaks came, they were insignificant to the middle and working classes.
