For crying’ out loud, @Youtube has put a copyright claim on a sermon video I edited because of the music added to the end (Amazing Grace.) It’s most certainly not legit, but my experience is that Youtube never admits it, so I’m clicking the “erase” feature to get rid of it.
I’m chuckling over their response. @Youtube either hires mindless drones or runs painfully simplistic algorithms.pic.twitter.com/Nb8vyQQ6rF

They don’t review anything. It’s up to the claimant to review the video & decide whether or not to release the claim. Many don’t care, so they just click through the claims, denying the appeals. As long as monetization is involved, Youtube doesn’t care either, they benefit.

*in my cases, the copyright claim is “resolved” by Youtube putting ads on our sermon videos and giving the proceeds to the copyright claimant. Youtube has a profit motive to ignore appeals & side with claimants.
