I know that I thought, and I am pretty sure others did too, that it'd be some sort of UA sniffing thing. Seems fine, whatever. But instead, it's this.

How can we claim to be pro-privacy while surreptitiously installing software on people's computers? More importantly, how did management not see this as a problem?

After the
#yallhands plenary, I actually felt better about management and@mozilla's direction than I have in a while. Very good feels! But now, I'm not so sure. It should have been *obvious* that this is not okay.4 replies 6 retweets 98 likesShow this thread -

Who at
@Mozilla okayed this? Why did they? I have no idea. I’m also honestly not very plugged in internally but haven’t even seen any other employees raising this issue internally either.7 replies 5 retweets 95 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @steveklabnik @mozilla
There were, and are, people raising this internally, I can assure you. They just weren't doing it via the all-company list.

I think you also may have been misunderstanding me here; at the time I tweeted this, it had been a fiasco for three days. I had expected to read a post similar to the one I replied all to well before I ever tweeted a thing

That part I fully agree on. The fact that it took days to go from "what the heck?" mails internally to some sort of maybe useful internal or external communication is definitely something I am hoping the post-mortem will address.
