Obviously the spec should just be rewritten in Rust! It would be better for performance anyway because Rust is faster than English.

See also API docs that don't mention thread-safety. It's almost like the docs were written after the software and never used in anger…

Yeah, that's pretty annoying too. Or APIs that _are_ threadsafe, but only because they take a giant lock and serialize everything.
