Most of the issues in your thread have no bearing whatsoever on the efficacy and safety of a particular drug. I can't make people trust institutions. All I am saying is that people should look at the data.

That's the problem, though: most people aren't equipped to or interested in sifting through "the data" in scientific papers. They make decisions based on trust, reputation, and relationship. If you want to influence behavior, you have to start there—and it's much harder now.

Fair point. I live in Australia and our institutions are not so damaged. (For example, BLM protests last year were widely condemned by all our leaders). So perhaps I just can't wrap my head around the lack of social trust in America & the lack of integrity in its institutions.
