Question for critics of the left-identitarian approach to teaching about race in America: if the curriculum were up to you, what's your vision of what kids should be taught about race in America?

As a caveat, however, we should make sure students have basic literacy skills before spending time on "current events." There are many schools that have *literacy rates under 50%* that have jumped on the "antiracism" bandwagon—which is a dereliction of duty.

I really don’t think k-12 should teach/ discuss current events much - it’s too fraught with strong opinion and emotion. Teach that redlining occurred, but potential lasting effects impacting today are still debated.
