Read the 1997 book "Fourth Turning." Destruction of institutions happens every time history rolls through this stage of the cycle. We've been here before. It's ugly, and it will probably get much more violent, but we will get through it.

Let's not forget that a lot of this appears is coming from people who have rather privileged positions who have the luxury of being removed from the day to day struggles of the rest of the world either due to Gov. positions, Academic tenure or book deals, PR specialists.
