What genuinely confuses me about so many on the right embracing these CRT bans is this: What happened to wanting a government so small you can drown it in a bathtub and taking responsibility for your own community?

Rufo is correct. The law only prohibits the inclusion of material saying people SHOULD feel discomfort, etc., not material that CAUSES discomfort. That’s an error in the op-ed. Though the law is still terrible for other reasons.

the state putting limits on what the state is allowed to do is not terrible, nor is it some kind of gotcha to pretend this is at odds with a preference for smaller government
