The language is really awful and reckless, especially in a lot of the "critical whiteness studies" material. But this all operates in the postmodern/symbolic world. We should be careful of making hyperbolic predictions/warnings.
We should remember that there were thousands of politically-motivated bombings and hijackings in the 1970s. But our system was able to contain them and course-correct. We should take CRT seriously, but not be fatalistic about it!

It's so disheartening for me to see such widespread acceptance of the ridiculous notion that CRT would lead to genocide. Once our opposition gets fully organized, this will be used against us — painting us as unhinged, extreme, and unserious.

The internet is an accelerant. It wasn't around in the 1970's. Bad ideas didn't go viral back then. Hurricanes of hysteria and moral panic were less frequent and intense. I think CRT alarmism is warranted.
