Thank you for hosting this! I'm glad we were able to find common ground. By the end of the debate, David endorsed Idaho's ban on critical race theory indoctrination; I was persuaded that compelled speech is the strongest legal basis for the bills. Productive conversation!
I'm still not clear on one question I asked during the debate: if a public school adopted a Klan-sponsored curriculum promoting racial superiority theory, would David support or oppose a state law banning it?

Yea, I think you should have talked more about the details of the bills. Like you day, French agrees with you on some details. So maybe just figure out what are the parts he thinks should be removed. Or make Idaho bill the model

Chris debated on the substance & provided current examples, whereas David’s arguments were more philosophical & planning Chris had to correct David on the actual language in the legislation numerous times, as well as the scope of the bans

Ultimately, I think David summed it up best: “If you had to nail down a big difference between Chris and I, it’s...”I want to hear the ideas of Critical Race Theory. I want to hear ‘em” That’s great for someone like David French, but maybe not for young, influential minds
