Banning things only increases their importance and attractiveness. Whatever one’s view on the issue, the fact is that in France bans on the headscarf have influenced younger Muslims who otherwise would not have worn the veil to adopt it. Bans on CRT will make it MORE influential.

Counterpoint: institutionalizing things only increases their importance and attractiveness. Critical race theorists have the right to preach their beliefs as individuals, but taxpayers are not obligated to subsidize that speech or mandate its inclusion in public schools.

I think we’re talking somewhat past each other here. Anyway, you know that we overlap in many ways in our impression of these ideas.
