So the British Isles is the source of it all? Do they realise that these islands were invaded by Romans, Angles, Jutes, Saxons, Vikings, Norman's, etc, all white, northern European tribes so surely that's where all the badness originated, the medieval EU

The only reason I'd doubt that is that there are enough earnest-seeming attempts at actually making some of the pain points stand out. But it could just be an unusually aware author pulling that off.
