Agree 100% with this. We are still scrambling for the best descriptors, but I think neo-Marxism is probably the most accurate (besides "critical race theory" directly, which is accurate, not an obvious pejorative, and has proven very effective).
I can understand why the GOP, in framing its strategy around this, might want to try to use red-meat labels like "Marxism" to get its base mobilized, but it could backfire badly and damage the credibility of the anti-CRT movement among centrists and anti-woke liberals.
I wonder how many low-info normies have a positive impression about Critical Theory because the word “critical” - vital, all-important, etc - is right there in the name? Not knowing that Critique Theory would be a more accurate moniker.
