Internecine split: @glukianoff & @TheFIREorg against the bills banning CRT, @realchrisrufo for them. They should debate. Or someone should. Beats echo chamber podcasts.https://twitter.com/glukianoff/status/1390564807703601153 …

I'd love to see this happen.

Me too. I'd have a critical eye for how queer theory inspired indoctrination of 4th graders is construed as "academic freedom".

FIRE doesn’t litigate either. Just throwing that out there.

I fully support FIRE, but they are mistaken here. Teaching *about* CRT in say, college (critiquing it) is one thing. ADVOCATING for CRT in college or K-12 is indoctrination. Would FIRE support teaching K-12 that, Blacks are the reasons the U.S. is chaotic and violent? No.

The article we are talking about is about *higher education*. The law applying to K-12 is different and that is explicitly not addressed in that article.

Would love to watch this debate. We need to assure that all these bills are not only litigation-proof but serve to bolster constitutional principles of both free speech and equal protection.

Agreed. We need debate on these topics: (1) what are the unintended consequences of the "divisive concepts" bill? (2) are there alternative approaches to the current bills? (3) Is the anti-1619 bill is too narrow? (4) should we have a Students' Bill of Rights?
