Teachers unions are attacking this bill with the false claim that it will prohibit "teaching history." This is a lie. The legislation simply prohibits indoctrination, compelled speech, and state-sanctioned racism.

BREAKING: The Oklahoma State Legislature has passed a bill banning state-sanctioned racism in public schools. The legislation, which heads to the governor's desk, would prohibit public schools from promoting race essentialism, collective guilt, and neo-segregation. Swords up!

Of course, history can be called biased, but it's generally presented in a factual manner - what happened when, who said what. CRT is interpretive, it is meant to indoctrinate.

A distinction needs to be drawn between teaching it as a theory (“Hey, this is what critical race theorists believe”) and indoctrination into it, with no room for dissent. Critics of this legislation try to conflate the two.
