I know I'm old-fashioned, but I can't help thinking that what makes sense in academic institutions is not to ban critcal race theory, or any other view or approach, but also not to give it a monopoly or privileged position over other views and approaches. What's wrong with that?

I think if there are other political or religious philosophies being discussed, then it is not inappropriate to discuss critical theory in the same context. But most k-12 classrooms are not discussing philosophy

Discussion of a topic & of a belief system is one thing but having little kids group themselves into different identities & going through little mini struggle sessions where they're required to accept their culpability or admit they are privileged oppressors is not ok.
