The Babylon Bee is marketed as something from one of my childhood nightmares (“Your trusted source for Christian news satire”), and the fact that it’s now exponentially more likely to be funny than Stephen Colbert feels like a sign of the End-Times.https://taibbi.substack.com/p/the-death-of-humor-f17 …

I can only hope that once the fever breaks that: (1) liberals will remember how horribly their side acted and lose a bit of their self-righteous arrogance, and (2) conservatives will remember what it felt like to be marginalized and have a bit more sympathy going forward.

This is true. It's fascinating. Conservative/ anti-woke is at the forefront of comedy/satire. I'm interested in whether this crosses into other areas of art & culture.

Well, some of the jokes aren't funny even though they try. What ever happened to the Canadian Frank magazine? It was just indecent rather than funny.

To be fair the Babylon Bee is often headbangingly unfunny. But sometimes it isn't and thats more that can be said about Stephen Colbert, who has fallen farther than anyone I can think of in the recorded history of comedy in the English language

That being said I don't think the makeup of the current Democratic party is the 1960's left so much as the educated upper class, much of which is closer culturally to the old moderate republicans, sharing the same basic WASP values and economic interests
