The Founders inherited a world of universal deprivation, slavery, and unfreedom. They did not abolish these conditions in their lifetimes, but created a philosophy and structure that led to their abolition over time. They left the world more just than they entered it.

100 percent. But my middle class parents bought a house in 1961 that - after trading up twice - became an inheritance. I don't know who held the first mortgage but I'm fairly sure a young Black couple could not have gotten one. These are things that need to be made right.
