I think you're right—and conservatives are enabling it with a naive commitment to "free markets." They provide a ready-made rationalization for the disappearance of cultural traditions. "Dr. Seuss' foundation is making a private decision!" and "Amazon is a private company!"

I think that's the wrong framing. Conservatism won't even stop the stuff government is doing, like affirmative action, disparate impact, funding ideological nonsense departments. Commitment to markets would be better, it'd at least defund schools.

The problem is that, although the government set this stuff in motion, wokeness has since taken on a life and logic of its own in non-governmental bureaucracies. This makes it difficult to stop without setting statist precedents that understandably make people uncomfortable.

I think Rich's point is more far-reaching. Conservatives in power seem to pick up on these stories and tweet them instead of actually doing something about this at the highest levels. It's a failed movement and efforts like yours are the exception rather than the rule.

No, they’re enabling it by naïve commitment to racial egalitarianism. Overton conservatives will hysterically stigmatize any expression of European pride, solidarity, or group interests.

The "enabling" mostly comes from legions of private citizens who are intimidated into accepting institutional implementation against their wishes/best judgment. E.g.,my friends who are young parents & scared to speak up when schools teach their 5 year olds about gender fluidity
