Listen to Chomsky and Foucault speak together on YouTube. I think they are both malign influences, but damn, they are razor-sharp and have genuine insight, whatever your politics. Now we have Ibram Kendi.

I noticed it in undergrad. The smart people went “why is everyone saying ‘I feel like...’ before they argue a point?” Answer? They never did the reading. With the ascendancy of EQ and PMism, one started being able to say anything one wanted. This trickled down to high schools.
