Listen to Chomsky and Foucault speak together on YouTube. I think they are both malign influences, but damn, they are razor-sharp and have genuine insight, whatever your politics. Now we have Ibram Kendi. 
I used to have a uniformly negative view of Foucault, but this year I went back and re-read two of his books (Madness, Biopolitics) and he raises a lot of very good points. But he is pure negation and transgression—created the intellectual context for a lot of today's problems.
