Don’t waste your time and money paying for sailing classes. Get on the crew lists for CYC PHRF racing out of Shilshole or the Thistle crew on Lake Washington. That’s how you learn to sail.

Some racing out of Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma. They may have an online crew list, if not just call/email the club leaders and they’ll put you in touch with skippers needing crew. I’m in Tacoma but race out of Seattle, bit more competitive up there, larger fleets.

Ah, the aroma of Tacoma... Has any scientist explained the signature city odor btw? I used to live in fresh mountain Skagit, So, the miasma is choking at times. Is it industrial like the pulp mill in everett?
